Biography

Sam William is a Legal Research Assistant for the Law, Health Policy & Disability Center in the College of Law at the University of Iowa. Before law school, Sam worked for many years, providing direct social service delivery to the adult population in recovery from severe mental illness and chemical dependency. He worked in settings including adult foster care, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), and through the Social Services Department at Dakota County, MN. Sam brings his mental health social service background in conjunction with a legal education to explore policy implications for these underrepresented communities. As a Legal Research Assistant, Sam’s role in projects includes data collection, qualitative analysis, policy research, and report production.
